Description
The artists conception of permafrost in the far north country of Canada.(Permafrost is defined on the basis of temperature, as soil or rock that remains below 0C throughout the year, and forms when the ground cools sufficiently in winter to produce a frozen layer that persists throughout the following summer.) This is true, but permafrost has been known too swallow up large machinery in the summer due to it's porous nature.

This is a stunning painting Wayne! The details keep my eye travelling through it and I enjoy looking at the vast landscape you've created. Marion

Wow, all this beautiful painting and we get technical information about the subject, too! That sky is a precious gem, and it took me right down to the obscure valley village and highway that I might well otherwise have missed. The balance, structure, whatever you want to call it, is so "harmonic" (how's that for a bullshit critic's cross-imagery?!!), including the "little sister" that is probably taller, all leaning east and down, all sort of off-balance tilting toward the flat "valley"! Great successful painting, Wayne. Well worth even YOUR signature.
